Ceramics course Continuation - 6 occasions
Do you feel ready for the next step and want to immerse yourself in ceramics? Welcome to the continuation course at Studio Alster! The course is suitable for those who have taken a longer course (e.g. 6 weeks) or several shorter courses where you learned the basics of pinching, slab building, coiling & throwing. Each session begins with a joint review and then you work freely with any technique you like and I am there as support all the way from clay to finished product. You choose whether you want to work with all techniques or go into depth in, for example, one of them. We meet 6 times, 3 hours each time. 5 of the opportunities are for the creation and completion of your creations. The last opportunity is for glazing.
You'll learn
- All steps from clay to finished product
- Pinching, coiling, slab building, tumbling, throwing, marbling, scrafitto etc
- How to maintain a good workshop environment
Included
- 1.5 kg of white clay (more clay in different colors can be bought on site for SEK 85/kg) - Engobe, glaze & firing - We always start the sessions in the lounge with coffee, tea & some snacks - Unleash your creativity in a relaxing environment
Structure
Total time 18h, divided into 6 occasions
We meet 6 times, 3 hours per session. Total time 18h Review of the following: Case 1: Quick review of the basic techniques Case 2: Marbling & Nerikomi Case 3: Engobing, underglaze & wax Case 4: Continue with work in progress Case 5: Finish work in progress Case 6: Glazing

About 4-6 weeks after the end of the course, you can pick up your finished works.

My name is Malin and I have had my hands in the mud for over 10 years. My own creation is always driven by desire. I do what I find fun and I am inspired by the beauty in the imperfect. I am a health educator and crafts educator and the focus of my courses is to dare to let go of control and be curious to try something new. In June 2022, my colleague Judith and I opened the doors to our own ceramics workshop with an extra sense of durability, nice hanging and creativity. There we gather like-minded ceramic lovers who want to manage their own time, to come and create at times that suit them. We also offer courses and events. Welcome to be inspired in the studio and immerse yourself in the world of ceramics.
