My beret

In this workshop I show you how to make your own hat, from start to finish. This includes learning how to take the right measurements for your hat, put it on paper, make a pattern and to use that pattern for different hats. Once we have gone through those steps you can start playing with your creativity and learn how to develop your own design and finally make your own beret. Maybe you prefer your beret with a twist, a square cut, an egg-shaped cut, with a band or without. I will show you some variations and how they are developed. Also I will show you how to work a twist knot into the beret. You can then decide what shape and design your beret should have. It is important that you learn the basic steps and can build on this knowledge. Finally, I will sew the beret all ready and show you step by step what to do. From measuring the head, taking the measurements correctly, making the pattern, cutting the beret and lining, sewing the beret and lining and finally to finish it by handstitching. You will then understand how to sew hats and modify them to create different shapes. Then you will be able to apply this knowledge to different hats. And you will begin your fashion career!
